Transformation by Harsheys

In Harsheys's Transformation Model, four components converge on a new advisable behavior: Need, Motivation, Ability, and Prompt. Coaching can apply these principles to nudge people to activate a positive attitude towards change and begin producing actions or behaviors toward a specific goal.

Preparation or Need

In this phase, a person or organization is ready to make a change when they understand the need for change. Our consultations help them stay committed to change and motivated to take the necessary steps by understanding the issues they're facing and receiving the right diagnosis. Make a plan using different methods like reading, talking, and gathering information about the problem. Understanding the need and preparation stage is crucial to the success of behavior change.

Motivation and method

When motivation is combined with a goal or intention, results can be amazing. People realize that their goals and take efforts based on methods taught to them, it works. Our role is to maintain the motivation for change while exploring options that don't depend on motivation alone. Coaching is essential in guiding and enabling change

Ability and Action Stage:

The ability stage begins when people learn new strategies and implement them. When people are motivated to change, but lack the ability to implement changes on their own, coaching can help them reach their goals while learning new behaviors.

Prompts for Consistency

Learning and coaching programs should include cues that will prompt the learner to implement the desired behavior. These triggers will help activate the new behavior in context of the learner's work day, thus making it easier for the individual to recognize existing rituals or timings for those triggers. It is important to provide prompts for consistency.

Coaching is a human factor that allows the removal of limiting beliefs and biases, creates trust and confidence, and acts as a guardian of the process for change. According to a report by the World Economic Forum, critical thinking, self-management, resilience, creativity, leadership, and emotional intelligence are among the top 10 skills needed to succeed in today's world. Acquiring these new human skills requires an approach that incorporates coaching or change facilitation as part of learning & development.
